Increasing numbers of migrants and refugees are travelling through Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach the European Union.

Responding to this situation, WHO/Europe and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted a joint assessment on 6–12 April 2019.

The assessment started with a national-level intersectoral stakeholders’ meeting, followed by individual interviews and field visits to various migration centres in the country.

A joint report will be published after the completion of the assessment, identifying key technical areas where WHO/Europe can support the health sector to adequately manage large influxes of migrants and refugees and foster future dialogue and cooperation on migrant health.
