Jack Kavanagh is a 30-year-old from County Meath in Ireland. When he was 20, he suffered a spinal cord injury and as a result has 15% muscle function. Today he is a pharmacist, although he considers himself more of a health professional and a speaker.
In this short video, Jack and WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge, speak about Jack’s experience and share insights on progressing the health of people with disabilities and the recently adopted WHO European framework for action for people with disabilities.
The framework for action is an ambitious vision that aims to support countries across Europe and central Asia in creating enabling environments for people with disabilities, while tackling physical and mental barriers to their inclusion in health and society as a whole.
