During its 12th annual meeting, on 19–20 February 2018, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the European Technical Advisory Group on Tuberculosis (TAG-TB) delivered key recommendations which will contribute towards strengthening tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control efforts in the WHO European Region.

The meeting’s objectives were to:

  • review progress made on the recommendations of the 11th TAG-TB meeting and on the implementation of the Tuberculosis Action Plan for the WHO European Region 2016–2020, as well as the current epidemiological situation for TB in the Region;
  • address the role of intersectoral action and sustainable development in ending TB in the Region;
  • design approaches to build on the current political commitment from the Global Ministerial Conference on Ending TB held in November 2017;
  • provide an overview of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly high-level meeting on TB, to be held in September 2018.

The recommendations are currently being compiled in a report which will be published and made publically available in the coming weeks.
