WHO welcomes new collaborating centre for health professionals education and research

The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Malta has recently been designated as a new WHO collaborating centre for health professionals education and research.

Located at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Department empowers graduates in various life-science areas, with the tools necessary to understand and partake in innovations in pharmacological development, and to further apply this knowledge in the field of therapeutics.

As a WHO collaborating centre the Department will support WHO by:

  • conducting research and generating evidence on health professionals education;
  • providing technical assistance to improve health literacy and patient safety through health professionals education.

Moreover the department will participate in jointly planned WHO meetings, and promote and disseminate WHO policies and documents.
