A meeting on lessons learned in the area of cervical cancer prevention in Latvia and Europe took place between national stakeholders and primary health care providers. The meeting was held in Riga on 15-16 April 2010.
1. To discuss and share lessons-learned of the first year of organized cervical cancer screening in Latvia and the experience of Slovenia, Finland and other countries in the WHO European Region
2. To suggest the recommendations on increasing cervical cancer screening coverage and introducing human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in Latvia
3. To agree on and prioritize follow-up actions
1. Better understanding of the challenges in implementation of organized cervical cancer prevention and introduction of HPV vaccine
2. Report on the present status of cervical cancer prevention and final recommendations for improvement of the quality and coverage of organized screening in Latvia
