Milano Check Point, based in Milan, Italy, provides free and anonymous sexual health services to the local community, including rapid testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and administration of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to help prevent HIV infection.

Since the monkeypox outbreak in Italy, Check Point volunteers have also been providing vital outreach services – raising awareness about the virus and giving out information on the symptoms to look out for, ways to avoid infection and what to do if you think you might have monkeypox.

Thanks to their trusted and visible role in the city, Milano Check Point has helped to reduce monkeypox case numbers and lessen stigma attached to the disease.
