European Immunization Week 2025
The WHO European Region celebrates European Immunization Week (EIW) every year to promote awareness of the role immunization plays in preventing diseases and protecting life. This year's EIW will highlight the urgent need to achieve high and equitable vaccination coverage in every community to prevent outbreaks of these diseases now and in the future.
Event highlights
On- and offline European Immunization Week (EIW) activities took place in all parts of the WHO European Region, including for example presentation of new immunization guidelines in Albania, a press conference in Armenia, a roundtable discussion with medical bloggers in Turkmenistan, an interactive exhibition in Ukraine and television programmes in Kosovo to raise public awareness about immunization. Some activities were co-funded by the European Union (EU) as part of ongoing joint WHO-EU projects on immunization.

This year's EIW will highlight the urgent need to achieve high and equitable vaccination coverage in every community to prevent outbreaks of these diseases now and in the future under the theme “Immunization for all is Humanly Possible”.
The EIW campaign will disseminate information about vaccines and the importance of leaving no one behind in efforts to protect public health through immunization. Building upon recent and established partnerships, this year's EIW activities will further leverage collaborative initiatives with young professionals and youth organizations dedicated to promoting immunization.
