Child and adolescent health in Europe: report on progress to 2021

Overview

Childhood and adolescence are critical stages of the life-course. To support Member States of the WHO European Region to address the main problems in this age group, the WHO Regional Office for Europe developed the European Strategy for Child and Adolescent Health 2015–2020, which was adopted by all Member States of the WHO European Region in 2014. This final progress report provides updates on achievements and the status of child and adolescent health at the end of the strategy in 2020. It is based on child and adolescent country profiles and a survey completed by 45 Member States in 2019/2020, and complements a previous progress report published in 2018. The findings guide the development of the new European approach to child and adolescent health under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals until 2030.
