Cervical cancer testing in the WHO European Region
Overview
This fact sheet describes the lifetime prevalence of cervical cancer testing among women aged 30-49 years from across the WHO European region using data from the STEPs survey and the European Health Information Survey.
Importantly, it sheds light on important inequalities related to testing rates. As the income of a country increased, so too, did the levels of testing. Women with lower levels of education were less likely to be tested, putting them at higher risk of eventually developing cervical cancer.
This fact sheet can be an advocacy tool to help policymakers and researchers address the problem of low testing levels among some populations.
