WHO Country Office in Ukraine, 2020–2021 report

Overview

This report provides an overview of the operations and activities of the World Health Organization (‎WHO)‎ Country Office in Ukraine over the 2020–2021 biennium.

Despite significant challenges during this period, including COVID-19 and the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Country Office’s work continued apace according to its core mandate. This work was framed by WHO’s guiding principles and objectives for global health, set out in the Thirteenth General Programme of Work, as well as by the European Programme of Work 2020–2025, and the Biennial Collaborative Agreement signed with the Government of Ukraine.

The report presents the achievements made in Ukraine in working towards WHO’s three strategic priorities:

  • achieving universal health coverage,
  • addressing health emergencies and
  • promoting healthier populations.
