Mobile health units in war-related emergency in Ukraine to deliver primary health-care outreach services to address noncommunicable deceases: project review
Overview
This report provides an overview of the operations of the WHO Country Office in Ukraine in the emergency response through engaging the primary health-care workforce and ensuring the recovery of and support for the vulnerable population in wartime. The mobile health units (MHUs) at the primary health-care level were selected and designed as the response and practically applied from June to December 2022.
This report describes the model, highlights opportunities and challenges, and shares lessons learned. The MHUs project continues to operate in 2023, and further analysis and review will be a WHO focus towards establishing sustainable solutions for Ukraine in the context of the war’s impacts on the lives, health, and well-being of Ukrainians.
