Progress report on the first mandate of the Technical Advisory Group on risk communication, community engagement and infodemic management in the WHO European Region: bridging research and practice

In February 2023, Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge, Regional Director for Europe, appointed WHO’s first-ever Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on risk communication, community engagement and infodemic management (RCCE-IM). This progress report presents the background behind the creation of the TAG and examines the results it achieved, together with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, in supporting an evidence-based approach to RCCE-IM. In doing this, the report draws on results from a check-out survey with TAG members and interviews with current and former RCCE-IM practitioners working for WHO, conducted by an expert consultant on monitoring, evaluation and learning.
