Country Health Policies and Systems

The Division of Country Health Policies and Systems (CPS) works on a range of issues related to public health systems and how these intersect with health policies in the WHO European Region. The CPS Division supports countries with the design and implementation of appropriate health policies and systems to strengthen universal health coverage and promote public health leadership, focusing on policies with people – patients and health-care providers – at their heart.

The CPS Division houses several programmes, including 2 flagships – mental health and digital health – of the European Programme of Work. The Division focuses on building capacity for health systems innovation to enable the sustainable delivery of high-quality primary health and community services that are effectively linked to hospitals, and mental health, public health and social care services.
