Overview
The Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS) Report: Early Implementation 2017-18 is the second GLASS report and draws information from GLASS enrolled countries on the status of their AMR surveillance systems and AMR data for selected bacteria that cause infections in humans. The aim of the report is to document participation efforts and outcomes across countries, and highlight differences and constraints identified to date. This report also highlights the main features and developments of the global system.
By the end of the second GLASS data call on 31 July 2017, 69 countries were enrolled in GLASS, of which 67 countries provided information on their AMR surveillance systems, and 48 provided 2016 AMR data. In addition, one country provided AMR data only, resulting in a total of 49 countries reporting AMR rates.
