The WHO “Global hepatitis report 2024: action for access in low- and middle-income countries” is the first consolidated WHO report on viral hepatitis epidemiology, service coverage and product access, with improved data for action.

The report updates progress made since 2019 in improving access to health products for hepatitis B and C in low- and middle-income countries, including Indonesia. In Indonesia, hepatitis B causes around 60 000 deaths every year and hepatitis C causes more than 6000 deaths.

The Global hepatitis report is complemented by new WHO guidelines on person-centered viral hepatitis strategic information. The consolidated guidelines highlight how effective use of data can help countries scale-up hepatitis prevention, diagnosis and treatment services, ensuring such services are person-centered and leave no person or community behind.
