We live in a complex world of interconnected systems. These systems encompass our societies, politics, and economics as well as our biosphere. The UN Decade of Healthy Ageing's plan of action sits within this wider context, closely linked to other critical global issues of our time.

In a series of themed advocacy briefs, the Decade Connection Series identifies links between the four Decade action areas and other key global issues that require multisectoral action.

Highlighting such connections can help governments and other stakeholders position the Decade within broader commitments and plans for progress towards sustainable development and leaving no one behind. Making these connections can also help to develop partnerships and foster collaboration across sectors and stakeholder at community, national, and global levels.

The briefs are coordinated by the Decade Secretariat at the WHO and developed with member organizations of the Inter-Agency Group on Ageing (IAGA).
