World Rehabilitation Alliance biennial in-person members meeting

12 and 13 July 2023, World Health Organization headquarters, Geneva Switzerland

Background

The World Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA) is a WHO-hosted global network of stakeholders whose mission is to support the implementation of the Rehabilitation 2030 Initiative through advocacy activities. The WRA objectives are to:

  • Conduct evidence-informed advocacy activities that increase support and raise awareness on rehabilitation.
  • Strengthen networking and knowledge sharing within the rehabilitation sector.

The WRA was officially launched on 11 July 2023. Following this, an in-person WRA members meeting took place, bringing all WRA members together for the first time.

The objectives of the meeting were to:

  1. Ensure all WRA members had a clear understanding of the vision and mission of the Alliance, as well as the WRA available resources and processes.
  2. Develop a clear plan to operationalize each workstream’s 2-year workplan.
  3. Ensure all WRA members had a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
  4. Identify priority next steps for WRA members, Steering Committee and Secretariat.
