WHO Assistant Director-General (ADG) for Family, Women, Children and Adolescents, Dr Nono (Dr Princess Nothemba Simelela) visited Lao People’s Democratic Republic to attend the GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance board meeting scheduled on 29-30 November 2017.
During this trip, Dr Nono spent time with WHO Lao Country Office staff, and stressed the importance of “One WHO” and the need to put country at the centre, for the greatest impact.

Next, Dr Nono spoke to staff at the Maternal and Child Health Unit and the team leader Dr Shogo briefed her on the First Embrace implementation progress
