Free Tuberculosis (TB) health screening and media event as part of the World TB Day celebration

Ahead of the World TB Day marked on 24 March, the Ministry of Health, National TB Centre, Mahosot Hospital and WHO organized a free TB health screening event for health care professionals and the public.

Health care professionals from the five central hospitals including the military hospital gathered at Mahosot Hospital for the free TB health screening
All participants had to complete a personal information and case investigation form
The TB health screening is a simple one-step process
The radiographer inserts the film into the digital X-ray machine and the image will appear on the computer screen
The health staff will examine the quality of the film and stored it for records
World TB Day media advocacy event was chaired by the Deputy Director of the National TB Centre Dr Phouvong Vongvichit

The Ministry of Health - National TB Centre (NTC) and the Centre of Information and Education for Health (CIEH) with support from WHO developed television spot and radio messages to encourage everyone to get screened. A media sensitization event took place on 23 March to raise awareness of tuberculosis and TV and radio spots will be aired during the week of the World TB Day.
