UN Day Open House in Lao People’s Democratic Republic

The UN Day is celebrated every year on 24 October, and this year’s event invited 150 students aged 10 to 15 years old to visit the UN House and understand the work of the UN agencies in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals.

WHO, UNFPA and UNAIDS collaborates on reproductive health

The students visited the activity room where UN agencies worked together to present their work. Three agencies (WHO, UNFPA and UNAIDS) provide information on reproductive health, sustainable development goals and HIV/AIDS awareness.

Every year, the UN agencies in Laos would mark the UN Day with the goal of raising awareness of the work they do in the country, and also in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals. Ten activity rooms were managed by UN staff to showcase their work and the students enjoyed an afternoon at the UN House.
