Call for experts

The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking experts to serve as members of the WHO Expert Advisory Group on arboviruses. This “Call for experts” provides information about the Group, the expert profiles being sought, the process for expressing interest and the process of selection.

WHO has identified a need to address the growing threat of arboviruses and to support programmes at the country level. Preventing and controlling these diseases further supports the Sustainable Development Goals. The Group will serve in an advisory capacity to WHO with a focus on essential and strategic guidance on management of arboviral diseases.

The Group shall have up to 15 members, who shall serve in their personal capacities to represent the broad range of disciplines relevant to the work on arboviruses. The expertise needed for this Group includes: clinical management, diagnostics, epidemiology, vector control, virology, vaccines and travel medicine. Members will serve a three‐year term. The first meeting is planned for December 2020. WHO may convene additional meetings as and when necessary.

WHO welcomes expressions of interest from experts.
