The consultant will be expected to work remotely.

WHO’s Air Quality and Health team in the Environment, Climate Change Health Department of WHO Headquarters (Geneva, Switzerland) is leading the global monitoring of energy access and its health impacts, particularly for households energy use. As part of its role as custodial agency of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators on energy access, as well as its commitment under the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative, WHO must annually update these databases with new survey data and provide a set of related descriptive statistics for reporting and technical briefings. The objective of the current agreement for performance of work is to identify and extract survey data related to energy access and health, support the preparation of annual estimates for access to clean fuels and technologies and related reports.

CONCISE OUTPUTS

In accordance with the survey search protocol established by WHO, identify surveys reporting nationally representative statistics on household energy use. Extract this data and add to WHO Household energy database.

Support the preparation of the WHO Household energy database for statistical modelling needed for SDG 7 reporting.

Support the dissemination of the WHO Household energy database in response to formal requests.
