Background
Over 430 million people globally live with disabling hearing loss and ear conditions, a number projected to rise significantly. The majority reside in low- and middle-income countries, where access to timely and effective interventions remains limited. To address this gap, the World Health Organization (WHO) is developing the Package of Ear and Hearing Care Interventions (PEHCI)—a comprehensive resource of evidence-based interventions aimed at supporting countries in planning, budgeting, and integrating ear and hearing care (EHC) into their health systems.
The PEHCI will guide Member States in identifying necessary workforce competencies, equipment, medicines, assistive technologies, and implementation conditions for EHC interventions. It is a key tool to promote equitable access to hearing care and reduce disparities in service provision.
To ensure the PEHCI document is accessible, engaging, and professionally presented, WHO is seeking a service provider to support the landscape and design of the final document.
Scope of work
WHO is seeking an organization/provider that can deliver the following:
- Design and layout of the PEHCI document in alignment with WHO branding and accessibility standards.
- Visual representation of key data, frameworks, and intervention pathways.
- Integration of infographics, icons, and illustrations to enhance readability and comprehension.
- Preparation of print-ready and digital formats of the document.
Required components of proposal
Interested providers should submit a proposal including:
- Statement of interest outlining relevant experience and understanding of the project.
- Cost proposal for the design and layout services.
- Portfolio or examples of previous work in document design, preferably in public health or development sectors.
- Detailed timeline for completion of the design work.
