Paediatric clinical trials remain limited in many parts of the world, making it harder to generate the evidence needed to develop safe and effective medicines for children. The WHO Global Accelerator for Paediatric Formulations (GAP-f) Network works to strengthen paediatric clinical trial capacity to accelerate the development and availability of safe, effective, and quality-assured medicines for children. As part of this effort, GAP-f is conducting a global mapping of paediatric clinical research sites.
Estimated time: 10–15 minutes
Deadline: 31 May 2026
The survey aims to identify sites with experience in paediatric clinical trials, describe their infrastructure and readiness to participate in future studies, and highlight areas where additional support may be beneficial.
The findings will contribute to a global overview of paediatric clinical trial capacity, helping to:
- increase visibility of paediatric clinical trial sites worldwide,
- facilitate collaboration between research sites, sponsors, and partners,
- inform more strategic and equitable investments by funders,
- identify opportunities to strengthen research ecosystems, and
- expand high-quality evidence generation for medicines for children.
This work supports implementation of World Health Assembly Resolution WHA75.8 and the Global Action Plan for Clinical Trial Ecosystem Strengthening.
Thank you for supporting efforts to strengthen paediatric clinical trial capacity worldwide.
