As you are aware, in May 2022, the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly adopted a resolution on Strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination, in which the first action requested of the Director-General was to organize, in a transparent manner, stakeholder consultations, in line with the Framework of Engagement with Non-State Actors, with the Member States, nongovernmental organizations including patient groups, private-sector entities including international business associations, philanthropic foundations and academic institutions, as appropriate, on the respective roles of the WHO Secretariat, the Member States and non-State actors, and to identify and propose to the Member States, for consideration by the governing bodies, best practices and other measures to strengthen the global clinical trial ecosystem, taking into account relevant initiatives where appropriate.
We aim to obtain input from all relevant stakeholders, spanning all diseases and health conditions during this consultation, so that these inputs can be consolidated into a report to be submitted to WHO’s Executive Board and the 76th World Health Assembly in 2023.
We would like to receive your feedback, comments and inputs as specified in WHA resolution 75.8. Please use the online form accessible through the following link to provide inputs.
Non-State Actor inputs will be screened according to WHO’s Framework for Engagement for Non-State Actors.
DEADLINE for the submission of comments is 11th November 2022. Please feel free to contact us at WHA758@who.int for additional information.
Please note we are providing a pdf of the full list of questions to help you plan your online submission – DO NOT make a submission using the pdf, the submission should be through the online tool.”
