Call for data

WHO has led the development of the draft WHO BioHub System Code of Conduct.

This is a call for feedback on the draft version of this document.

The WHO BioHub System  is a global, voluntary mechanism established to facilitate the timely, safe and equitable sharing of biological materials with epidemic or pandemic potential (BMEPP) and associated information for public health purposes.

This Code of Conduct establishes the ethical and professional standards of conduct expected of all participants in the WHO BioHub System. The Code is not legally binding and does not change the rights and responsibilities set out in the applicable SMTAs and other arrangements. Participants should apply the code mindful of the policies, rules, and legal frameworks that apply to their organization.

The Code is intended for all organizations and individuals participating in or acting on behalf of the WHO BioHub System. This includes BMEPP Providers, WHO and its designated bodies, WHO BioHub Facility(ies), Qualified Entities receiving materials under the relevant WHO BioHub System SMTA, and relevant third-party partners and funders. It is intended to address the full lifecycle of materials and associated data within the System, including collection, transportation, storage, characterization, use, further distribution, destruction, and documentation.
