The 10th UN Road Safety Collaboration meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 3-4 June 2009 hosted by UNESCAP. The meeting was attended by over 60 participants. The focus of the meeting was on discussing preparations for the First Ministerial meeting on road safety to be hosted by the Russian Federation in November 2009. Half a day was devoted to discussing this event and General Victor Kiryanov provided participants with a detailed update on where preparations stand at this time. In addition, time was devoted to discussing the Decade of Action which will hopefully be endorsed through a declaration from this Ministerial Meeting.
As with previous UNRSC meetings, partners provided updates on collaborative projects and the three project groups - good practices, fleet safety and infrastructure - met to discuss their workplans.
