At the Sixty-eighth World Health Assembly in 2015, WHO was requested to establish a network of WHO Collaborating Centres to support surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and quality assessment in each WHO region.
On 13-14 December 2016, the first meeting of the newly established WHO AMR Surveillance and Quality Assessment Collaborating Centres Network took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
Meeting participants discussed and developed a work plan for 2017-2019 to support the implementation of the WHO Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System.
