In countries in the Asia-Pacific, young people can account for a disproportionate number of new HIV infections. Young members of key populations often face substantial challenges, including legal and socio-cultural issues related to society attitude about sexuality in youth, compounded by behaviours that are highly stigmatised, leading to increased vulnerability to HIV infection and considerable barriers to accessing HIV prevention, testing and treatment services.
This webinar will present the WHO guidance on PrEP for young people, delve into the challenges and opportunities for providing PrEP to young people in a safe, acceptable and empowering way using case studies from Thailand and Vietnam, and provide the opportunity to hear the perspectives from a young PrEP user.
