WHO presents People Who Care, an evening of two short plays dramatizing the struggle for access to health. The first play Born in the Ruins by Christopher Bailey and Susan Jacoby tells the story of a nurse and a midwife helping an expectant mother give birth in a conflict zone. The second play, The Pot by Mac Rogers, dramatizes what happens when an epidemic hits a town and they cannot afford the medication. The plays will be followed by a Q&A between a panel of health experts and the audience, followed by a reception in the lobby with a cash bar.
The evening ushers in a series of WHO events related to the United Nations High Level Meeting on Universal Healthcare.
WHO presents People Who Care in collaboration with the New York University Drama Therapy program and Pace University.
