Background:
The new global estimates establish rehabilitation as a key strategy for Universal Health Coverage in the 21st century. They also challenge the thinking that rehabilitation is a fallback strategy when preventive, promotive or curative interventions fail, or that rehabilitation is a disability-specific service needed only by a minority of the population.
COVID-19 highlights the importance of rehabilitation and the need for it to be part of the global public health agenda. Many are living today with mid- and long-term consequences of COVID-19 and in need of rehabilitation to recover from the disease. This webinar will present the facts behind the numbers and their implications, as well as promote the upcoming WHO Rehabilitation Need Estimator.
