WHO launches new framework to support countries achieve integrated continuum of long-term care

WHO is hosting a webinar to launch its framework for countries to achieve an integrated continuum of long-term care. The objectives of the framework are to:

  • promote a global common understanding of long-term care;
  • facilitate assessment of existing long-term care systems and services;
  • facilitate the integration of long-term care within existing health and social care systems;
  • offer guidance on the key system elements, defines as: governance; stainable financing; information, monitoring and evaluation systems; workforce; service delivery; and innovation and research

The event will:

  • provide an overview of the global situation of long-term care for older people
  • share the key objectives and messages of the framework
  • hear reflections on challenges and solutions from stakeholders involved in long-term care for older people from Member States, UN partners, academics, and civil society
  • give an opportunity for engagement and discussion on the key issues for long-term care.

The event will take place on zoom.
