World Hepatitis Day 2022 - Bringing hepatitis care closer to you

28 July 2022

World Hepatitis Day is observed each year on 28 July to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver that causes severe liver disease and liver cancer. This year, as we mark the day, WHO is calling for simplified service delivery of viral hepatitis services, bringing care closer to communities. To achieve hepatitis elimination by 2030, we need to reduce new infections of hepatitis B and C by 40% and reduce deaths from liver cancer by 50% by 2025.  For this to happen we need to urgently simplify hepatitis care and make it more accessible to more people in need.
