Risk Communication for Laboratory Leaders - Public Health Laboratory Webinars

In this webinar we were introduced to the concept of risk communication, its importance, the key messages to be delivered, and strategies to be employed to communicate effectively. We heard about the use of risk communication strategies in emergency situations, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic between health authorities and the general public. We also looked at the role of risk communication within the laboratory setting, to facilitate biosafety practices, the building of a strong safety culture, and the roles and responsibilities of laboratory leaders to communicate about laboratory risks effectively.
