Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) Forum 2022 - Cancún, Mexico
At the SVRI Forum 2022, WHO,UN Women and HRP will showcase the powerful potential of data in violence against women prevention and response.
The five-year global WHO-UN Women Joint Programme on Violence Against Women Data and Measurement has been working to ensure quality, comparable data on different forms of violence against women is available and collected over time, to address national data gaps and meet global policy and reporting commitments. Violence against women – particularly intimate partner violence and sexual violence – is a major public and clinical health problem and a violation of women's human rights.
Panellists from the World Health Organization, UN Women, data producers and users, and Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office, United Kingdom will share their insights.
Topics include: collection and use of VAW prevalence data and estimates, including capacity building; administrative data; tools for addressing data gaps (e.g., on violence against older women or women with disabilities)
