Webinar to launch first Global Status Report on Physical Activity

19 October 2022 13:30 – 15:00 UTC Time

This webinar will mark the launch of the first WHO Global status report on physical activity 2022

WHO experts, policy makers, and country representatives will reflect on the findings of the report and discuss how physical activity is a policy “win win” and how implementation can be accelerated globally, regionally and nationally.

The Global status report on physical activity provides a stock take on country progress in implementing the policy recommendations outlined in the WHO Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030 (GAPPA) to increase levels of physical activity. These recommendations included policies aimed at: ensuring safer roads to enable more cycling and walking, improving urban spaces and public parks for active recreation and creating stronger national policies, partnerships and community engagement on increasing physical activity.

It is four years since countries committed to implement GAPPA and this WHO Global status report on physical activity 2022 charts progress on how well governments are doing in implementing these recommendations to achieve the global target of a 15% relative reduction in the prevalence of physical inactivity by 2030.
