Commercial Determinants of Health: Sustainable development, pandemic recovery and realizing the Right to Health

The World Health Organization is inviting you to the fourth webinar of the Commercial Determinants of Health. This webinar will explore links between action on the CDoH and sustainable development, particularly in the context of the UN 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, post-COVID-19 recovery planning, and the climate crisis. The webinar will discuss the role tackling the CDoH plays in sustainability and health development, and arising human rights considerations. The webinar will explore how alternative economic models may include CDoH consideration, which includes environmental and social justice considerations and relevant policy and legal instruments.

Why

One of the key priorities identified for WHO is the need to raise awareness and understanding of the commercial determinants of health, their impact, and effective action for policymakers to address them. Therefore, WHO has launched a series of webinars for a diverse audience that will explore the evidence base for commercial determinants of health, how they manifest in practice, and potential actions at different levels and by different actors.
