Kenya's Ministry of Health and the WHO country office have convened stakeholders to understand the size and profile of the national workforce that contributes to the delivery of essential public health functions, including emergency preparedness and response.
This mapping and measurement of occupations will help the country benchmark itself and identify gaps in national workforce capacity. The data will inform the development/update of national human resources for health strategies and plans, as well as national action plans for health security.
Participants are using the process outlined in the Public Health and Emergency Workforce Roadmap (National workforce capacity to implement the essential public health functions including a focus on emergency preparedness and response).
