Join us on Monday 13 November 2023 at 09:00–14:00 GMT (10:00–15:00 CET) for a vital joint UN session Cancer in crisis: from conflict to commercial threats, understanding the lived experiences and commercial determinants of cancer.
This event will consist of 3 sessions:
- Session 1 will be dedicated to the Cancer in humanitarian crises settings and will be hosted jointly by WHO, IAEA and IARC on 13 November between 09:00 and 11:00 GMT (10:00 and 12:00 CET).
- Session 2 will be dedicated to the Cancer in crisis: understanding the lived experiences: how do we create enabling systems to provide person–centred care and will take place from 11:15 to 12:15 GMT (12:15 to 13:15 CET).
- Session 3, hosted by WHO/Europe, will be dedicated to Commercial determinants of cancer and will take place from 12:30 to 14:00 GMT (13:30 to 15:00 CET).
The overall session objectives are to:
- Draw urgent attention to the cancer in humanitarian crises settings.
- Understand the lived experiences and how to create enabling systems to provide person–centred care.
- Raise awareness of commercial determinants of cancer across WHO regions.
