The Division of UHC/Healthier Populations and the Division of Data, Analytics and Delivery for Impact will host a two-day workshop on 7-8 December 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland for representatives from non-communicable disease technical teams, government and implementing partners. The workshop will provide a forum to discuss different models of successful implementation among road safety, alcohol, tobacco and obesity, explore WHO’s comparative advantage in country level implementation and explore barriers and examples of success. The workshop will build on the WHO Delivery for Impact methodology, an approach designed to drive impact at the country level through a focus on data & analytics, governance & accountability and implementation.
The workshop will focus on the following areas:
- Celebrate successful implementation of the Healthier Populations Billion in six leading countries across different priorities: Road Safety, Tobacco, Obesity and Alcohol.
- Explore what really drives success on the ground and share lessons learnt on how to overcome common challenges to implementation from the direct experience of the full range of partners involved in delivery.
- Shape and build a coalition that can step up to lead and drive further acceleration of progress on the Healthier Populations Billion through support to each other and to other countries in future.
This workshop offers a prime opportunity to explore how countries and WHO can build upon our collective knowledge and move towards a more structured and robust approach to implementation and impact for the given health areas.
