Micronutrient deficiencies, a pervasive global health issue, impacting human well-being is exacerbated by the multifaceted impacts of climate change. Optimizing the health and resilience of populations in the face of current and future shocks is critical as we strive to protect and nourish future generations

This event will elevate a common narrative on nutrition in an era of rising challenges, especially related to climate change, and offer policy and action recommendations to support nutrition resilience in ways that have a neutral or positive impact on the environment. The event will highlight critical work on nutrition-resilient systems, the resolution on Food Fortification adopted at the World Health Assembly in 2023, as well as the work conducted by Member States with a strong action agenda on nutrition and climate change, notably using fortification as a means to achieve nutrition resilience.
