WHO, in collaboration with partners and Member States, is convening the Africa Health Workforce Investment Forum in Windhoek, Namibia from 6-8 May 2024. The Forum will aim at obtaining consensus and commitment on the Africa Health Workforce Investment Charter, co-created by the WHO Africa Regional Office in collaboration with Member States, key stakeholders, and development partners. The charter sets out core principles aimed at stimulating and aligning sustainable long-term investment in the health workforce.
The investment forum is expected to be attended by more than 150 decision-makers drawn from Governments and Partners, and will engage governments, development partners, and key stakeholders to get behind the principles and implementation of the Africa Health Workforce Investment Charter. Key partners supporting the forum include the ILO-OECD-WHO Working for Health Programme and its Multi-Partner Trust Fund, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Frontline Health Workers Coalition.
