2024 Joint UNICEF, UNFPA and WHO meeting with manufacturers and suppliers Ensuring Health Equity: Partnerships For Accessible Quality Products

2 – 6 December 2024
Hybrid format with in-person sessions, UN City, Copenhagen, Denmark

The 2024 Joint Meeting brings together global health agencies, manufacturers, and suppliers to address challenges and opportunities in ensuring equitable access to quality-assured health products. Building on the momentum of the November 2023 discussions, this year’s meeting takes a forward-looking approach to unlocking the power of innovation and local manufacturing to drive equitable access and help to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

With the theme “Ensuring Health Equity: Partnerships for Accessible Quality Products,” the event offers participants a deep dive into sustainable local manufacturing practices and cutting-edge supply chain innovations. It is designed to inspire collaboration, encourage dynamic exchanges, spark new ideas, and deliver actionable insights on addressing global health challenges.

Key sessions include:

Day 1: Opening plenary featuring global health experts, roundtable discussions, case studies, and interactive technology-driven engagement via a meeting app and Zoom.

Day 2: Updates on prequalification product streams and technical support for local production.

Day 3: Insights into procurement processes, global programme forecasts, and real-world case studies, with time dedicated to in-depth discussions and Q&A.

Day 4: Regulatory updates in the morning, followed by two parallel sessions in the afternoon: (1) WHO treatment guidelines and model lists for essential medicines and diagnostics, and (2) monitoring and shipment innovations for health products.

Additionally, participants can engage in one-on-one meetings with manufacturers and stakeholders, starting on the afternoon of Day 2 and continuing through Day 5.
