Building resilience: local and regional approaches to pandemic preparedness and health security

19 May 2025 18:00 – 21:00 CET
In-person (Invite only), French Mission in Geneva, Switzerland

Languages: French and English

During the 78th World Health Assembly, this event is co-hosted by the Permanent Mission of France and the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP), with the support of the WHO. It aims to bring together a high-level group of stakeholders to reflect on lessons learned and discuss how to strengthen regional and local manufacturing of vaccines and therapeutics in low- and middle-income countries, including through the mRNA Technology Transfer Programme. The session will also explore how pooled procurement mechanisms, regulatory innovation, and sustainable financing models can support this effort.

The WHO Academy, which has a flagship programme on biomanufacturing, with a focus on vaccine production in Africa, will be represented on the panel.
