From resistance to resilience: drug-resistant gonorrhoea in 2025

19 November 2025 13:00 – 14:30 CET
Webinar

The WHO Department for HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections, in collaboration with the Antimicrobial Resistance Department, is pleased to invite you to a webinar to launch the 2025 Data Report on the Enhanced Gonococcal Antimicrobial Surveillance Programme (EGASP).

EGASP continues to strengthen national capacity for STI surveillance, epidemiology and gonococcal AMR monitoring and to build technical skills across clinical, epidemiological and laboratory domains. EGASP data are increasingly being used to inform updates to national STI treatment guidelines and to support reviews of national and global recommendations for gonorrhoea testing and treatment.

Taking place during World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2025, themed “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future,” the launch serves as a call to action to preserve gonococcal surveillance achievements and to build resilience against future antimicrobial threats in STIs.
