New results of the Active Prevention and Treatment of Maternal Sepsis (APT-Sepsis) trial
Join this webinar for the launch of the APT-Sepsis cluster-randomized trial in Malawi and Uganda.
This webinar will present the key findings from 59 health facilities that participated in the trial. The APT programme is a multi-component intervention that supported healthcare staff to achieve three goals:
- compliance with the WHO 5 moments of hand hygiene;
- adoption of evidence-based practices and WHO recommendations for prevention and treatment of maternal peripartum infections; and
- early detection of sepsis and use of the FAST-M treatment bundle (fluids, antibiotics, source identification and control, assessment of the need to transport or transfer to a higher level of care and ongoing monitoring of woman and baby).
During the webinar, you can expect insights from study principal investigators and their implications for health workers and policy makers.
