New results of the Active Prevention and Treatment of Maternal Sepsis (APT-Sepsis) trial

Join this webinar for the launch of the APT-Sepsis cluster-randomized trial in Malawi and Uganda.

This webinar will present the key findings from 59 health facilities that participated in the trial. The APT programme is a multi-component intervention that supported healthcare staff to achieve three goals:

  1. compliance with the WHO 5 moments of hand hygiene;
  2. adoption of evidence-based practices and WHO recommendations for prevention and treatment of maternal peripartum infections; and
  3. early detection of sepsis and use of the FAST-M treatment bundle (fluids, antibiotics, source identification and control, assessment of the need to transport or transfer to a higher level of care and ongoing monitoring of woman and baby).
