Background
Recent large-scale outbreaks have highlighted how health facilities (HFs) with limited or no infection prevention and control (IPC) capacities can amplify emerging infectious disease transmission within facilities and communities and across borders. To mitigate the risk of disease transmission, WHO has developed the The Framework and toolkit for infection prevention and control outbreak preparedness, readiness and response at the national level (IPC-OFT) and the corresponding Implementation Manual, that is an actionable tool specifically designed to practical implementation, aiming to support the countries to improve the capacity to respond to public health emergencies. This webinar will present and discuss the implementation approaches for IPC outbreak preparedness, readiness and response.
Objectives
- To disseminate the recently published WHO product entitled: Framework and toolkit for infection prevention and control outbreak preparedness, readiness and response implementation manual
- To present WHO regional office perspectives on the potential use of the implementation manual
- To share country experiences using the implementation manual and tools.
