I work at Dr Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I just started donating at 23 years old, a bit late actually. It was fasting month, and the blood stock for the AB+ group was completely empty, so I donated for the first time.
Since then, I have been a regular donor even though I was rejected several times because my body weight was not sufficient to be a donor. I feel very happy, not only seeing and taking donor blood but also being a donor to help patients who need it.
My body feels fresher now and my appetite has also increased, which makes me happy. I invite everyone, especially those who are young, to donate, to give something to people in need without spending money, just with the intention of helping others. I do not think it's too late to become a donor. Give blood and keep the world beating.
