The WHO Regional Office for the Americas (PAHO) in conjunction with the National Center for Community Traceability Operations and Control (COCYTC) recently delivered the third level of its COVID-19 Community Traceability Course. The course strengthened the skills and knowledge among staff who completed the previous two levels of training on tracking COVID-19 case contacts.
This adds to three existing courses supported by WHO to provide community volunteers and public officials information and guidance for the detection, monitoring and tracing of cases and contacts.
With an unprecedented need to track contacts, an activity that requires a large number of people to learn new skills quickly, WHO has supporting the COCYTC since its inception, providing technical support in designing, planning, advising, convening and disseminating training materials.
WHO thanks all donors and partners who have contributed to fund the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to combat COVID-19. A special appreciation goes to Member States and other contributors who provided flexible funds, making it possible for WHO to deliver a coherent, strategic and broad response.
