The COVID-19 pandemic has been a source of significant stress for individuals and communities around the world. Its impact on mental health is cause for major concern. Some groups are more adversely affected by the psychological distress associated with COVID19, including the most vulnerable, children and adolescents.
The WHO office in Tunisia recently supported the launch of a dedicated call centre for the Psychological Assistance Unit at the Charles Nicolle Hospital linking all regions of the country. As part of the efforts, WHO provided high-performance computer equipment, and recruited two consultants.
WHO thanks all donors and partners who have contributed to fund the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to combat COVID-19. A special appreciation goes to Member States and other contributors who provided flexible funds, making it possible for WHO to deliver a coherent, strategic and broad response.
